Rune, a 10-year-old superfan, traveled from Belgium to San Francisco for his favorite basketball player. He always dreamed of meeting Stephen Curry, and his family says that seeing his dream come true was transformative. Rune’s favorite moment from the day was getting a high five from Curry.
“What we thought was impossible, has now become reality,” says his mother. “We have seen him go through so much misery and pain over the last year that it was fantastic to see him so surprised and overwhelmed.”
20-year-old Jared from Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana says: “Meeting Stephen Curry is one of those moments I will never forget.” His mother Selinda says that it was a truly amazing trip for the entire family, and one that they’ll cherish forever.
“Our trip was truly a dream and once in a lifetime chance for Jared and for us,” she says. “I don’t even know how to thank Stephen Curry, who was fabulous with the kids, beyond measure.”
11-year-old Tyler made the exciting journey to San Francisco from the Make-A-Wish Philadelphia & Susquehanna Valley chapter. His dad says that meeting Curry was a dream come true. “He talks about him all the time at home and it was very special to see him be able to meet him, take pictures, and have him sign his Stephen Curry basketball,” he says. “Overall it was a great experience.”
