Bella's wish to meet Warriors Sportscaster, Ros Gold-Onwude

Bella's wish to meet Ros
There are those children who dream of growing up one day to be a famous athlete. And then there is Bella, who imagines being a sportscaster who makes a living interviewing these athletes.

On March 26th, the 11 year-old did almost everything her favorite sportscaster, Rosalyn Gold-Onwude, aka Ros, did as the Golden State Warriors hosted the Memphis Grizzlies at home.

It started with getting her credentials, so she could access the court before the game. With that securely around her neck, she was soon joined on court by Ros, who was nearly as awed to be chosen for Bella’s wish as Bella was to meet her.  After getting  some tips and advice from Ros, the future sportscaster launched into interviewing members of both teams, who were warming up on court.

To help give Bella perspective, Ros also spent time practicing interview “hits” with her, where it was Bella’s turn to answer questions in front of a camera. This was also a good warm-up for the radio interview that followed, where Bella and Ros joined Damon Bruce on-air for his pregame live show. Then, back down to the court to record the pre-game interview with Greg Papa, which was broadcast in the arena before the game.

And of course, there was the game itself. After taking care of the Grizzlies, the Warriors’ Coach Steve Kerr and Steph Curry held their usual post-game press conference, only this time, there was an 11 year old warrior sitting among the media.
